Open houses The purpose of an Open house There are two purposes to an open house. One, to sell the property to potential buyers. And two, the agent holding the open house is there to seek business for new clientele. If you have an agent, it is courteous to let the open house agent know you have an agent already. You should have a few of your agents’ business cards to hand over to the other agent holding the open house. By doing so, the open house agent should not try to solicit your business.
